Terracotta lotus pendant and earrings being painted on acrylic shades. I have mixed 4 shades here to get the desired color. They are light pink, purple, red and a hint of gold. Well it’s upto you. Traditionally terracotta isn’t varnished. But these days people do tend to. I personally don’t varnish and have no problems with color either. If you want to varnish, there are glossy and matt varnishes available in the market. You can use them. The one appropriate for acrylic paints.

Its fired in an electric kiln (oxidation). if you include any carbon emanating material you are putting it through a carbon reduction atmosphere. When you see potters make pots/vases/vessels you don’t see the product in black color, you see them in the terracotta color.
If you are looking to bisque fire your products, you can take it to pottery studio near you.
